Jacob Melancon has spent his entire career servicing clients involved in oil and gas exploration and production.
He began his career as a field landman, gaining valuable experience running title prior to joining a large oil and gas firm in Houston. He also worked as an in-house landman and legal counsel for a mineral acquisition company prior to joining Kuiper Wheat. Over the course of his practice, he has authored or contributed towards the publication of several hundred title opinions covering properties in the Permian Basin, Eagle Ford Shale, and East Texas, as well as the DJ Basin in Northeast Colorado.
Jacob is a lifelong resident of Texas, having grown up in Beaumont, and has lived in Houston since beginning his legal studies at UH Law Center in 2007.
